We have had many students over the last 5 weeks at our centre. All with the pressing matter of how to enter UK universities. Hundreds of thousands of would-be students are likely to be left without a place at a UK university this year. There are two main challenges that must be addressed now if you want to have a chance to study in UK from September 2010.
1. Increase in applications
Applications for university places are up by 20% on last year
Overseas applications risen from 55,245 to 71,105 (28.7% increase), according to UCAS
As an adviser at the British edUKation Centre in Kiev, I regret that students are rejected due to weak applications and incorrect supporting documents
Make sure that you have a strategy for applications in parallel to 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice Universities.
Or else you risk not entering any top university
2. UK VISA Entry to enter UK universities
- This year the issue of a UK entry visa has become even more difficult. More cases of misuse have been discovered and tougher rules have been brought in to stop people abusing the student visa system and remain illegally in the UK.
There are two points that I wish to highlight:
To all you bright kids out there. Don’t underestimate this process; harder than you might think. If you fail to plan: you will fail
On Saturday 20th February at 12:00 British EdUKation Centre will convene a workshop:
“Entry to UK Universities – 2010”
3d floor, 5/24 Irininska Street, Kyiv (above UK Visa Application Centre)
